Connect Appointments have a new opportunity within the Livingston area for a Press Brake Operator to join our client’s growing team on a permanent basis!
Pay rate: £13 to £15 per hour
Working as a Press Brake Operator your duties will include:
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and punches for each job
- Measure and inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings to achieve desired results
- Setting up and operating the press brake machine to bend, shape, and form metal sheets as per engineering drawings and specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the production process
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Perform routine maintenance on the press brake machine to ensure its optimal performance
To be successful you will ideally have proven experience as a Press Brake Operator within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metal fabrication industry. Combined with:
- Proficient in setting up and operating brake press machinery
- Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques, tool, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent mathematical and measurement skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work in dependently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects when required
