Practice Nurse – Whinpark Medical Practice

Job Description

We are a busy GP practice in the South-West of Edinburgh with a list size of 12,100 culturally diverse patients.

Whinpark Medical Practice is a large practice with approximately 12,100 patients based in the South West locality of Edinburgh. We have a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of 6 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs and two GP trainees and a Foundation Doctor as well as 2 practice nurses and 3 Health Care Assistants. In addition, our integrated multidisciplinary onsite team includes pharmacists, paramedics, Health Visitors and a community link worker. We also have a fantastic administration team. At Whinpark we strive on working together and supporting each other with everybody’s role being valued. We are an accredited training practice with GPST1 and GPST3s attached. We use Vision and Docman IT systems.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse to join our supportive, hardworking team in providing care to the community of West Edinburgh.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently but also as part of a team in a friendly but busy environment. Previous Practice Nurse experience is preferred with some experience in Chronic Disease Management (diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory conditions) and cervical screening. You must be able to communicate clearly, compassionately and have good organisational and IT skills.

We are looking to fill a full-time role but can be flexible on working days and hours to suit both parties. Salary would depend on qualifications and experience. Please note this post is permanent.
