Position Overview

Applications are invited for the post of Sub specialty trainee in Gynaecological Oncology Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post is based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Applicants must hold the MRCOG or equivalent, and be at ST5 level or higher (CCT or on UK specialist register O+G) at the time of taking up the appointment.

This is a three year post leading to sub specialty accreditation in Gynaecological Oncology. Applicants with research may complete the programme in two years.

You will be fully supported by a thriving and friendly department and will be encouraged to take forward service and academic development.

The Unit is the designated tertiary referral unit for the North East of Scotland and provides a full range of obstetric and gynaecological services. The unit has responsibility for approximately 6,000 deliveries and 9,000 gynaecology admissions per annum.

There are excellent on site library facilities and opportunities for research both within the Department and with other groups in the Hospital and the University of Aberdeen. The Department provides both NHS and University academic services and the post will involve appropriate participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
