Job Description
Suitable candidates will come from a heavy engineering background – ideally ship repair, oil and gas or offshore.
You will be responsible for carrying out fabrication tasks to a high standard of safety, accuracy, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Read, interpret, and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications
Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steelwork and components to required tolerances
Cut, shape, and prepare materials using a variety of hand and power tools
Carry out plating, fitting, and welding operations as required
Ensure work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
Follow all site safety procedures
Candidate Requirements:
Time served Apprenticeship or SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication
Previous background in marine, oil & gas or offshore
Ability to work directly from engineering drawings
Proven experience in fabrication, plating, and structural steelwork
Safety conscious with a good knowledge of health & safety regulations
Ability to work flexibly, including overtime
Rates and hours:

40 hours per week standard, Overtime is available and currently being worked (up to 50-60 hours per week)

PAYE: 17.17/h plus 2.07/h holiday pay (can be accrued or advanced) or Umbrella co/CIS: 23/h

Overtime (x1.5) – PAYE: 25.76/h plus 3.11/h holiday pay or Umbrella/CIS: 34.50/h
At present the contract is running until end of February 2026
