Our client is a well-established and growing organisation operating across multiple sites, with a diverse range of plant and transport assets. Due to continued operational demand, they are now seeking an experienced Plant & Fleet Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the planned and ongoing maintenance of their equipment and vehicle fleet.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, highly organised maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and is comfortable managing maintenance activity across multiple locations.
Role Overview
Reporting into senior management, the Plant & Fleet Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all plant, machinery, and transport vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role requires strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to manage both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimising downtime, controlling maintenance costs, and supporting day-to-day operations across all three sites.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and oversee all preventative and reactive maintenance for a varied fleet of plant, machinery, and transport vehicles across three locations.
Ensure all equipment and vehicles are maintained in line with statutory requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and internal company standards.
Coordinate maintenance activities to minimise operational disruption and maximise asset availability.
Manage relationships with external service providers, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring quality of work and value for money.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service schedules, and compliance documentation.
Identify recurring faults or performance issues and implement long-term solutions.
Support site teams by providing technical guidance and maintenance expertise when required.
Contribute to maintenance budgets, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in a similar plant, fleet, or maintenance management role within a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong working knowledge of plant equipment and road transport fleets.
Experience managing maintenance across multiple sites would be highly advantageous.
Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and respond to operational pressures.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to high standards of safety and reliability.
