Planner – Civil Engineering
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £30,000 £55,000 (DOE)

Are you an experienced Planner looking for your next challenge in civil engineering? This is an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join a well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Scotland. As a Planner, you ll be developing, monitoring, and maintaining programmes across a wide range of civil engineering works, from highways and bridges to renewable energy and marine infrastructure.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules from early stages through to completion

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to plan activities and milestones

Carry out critical path analysis to identify potential delays and bottlenecks

Use project planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or MS Project

Produce regular progress reports and updates for key stakeholders

Monitor project performance and highlight areas requiring corrective action

Support coordination with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery

Analyse resources and ensure optimal utilisation across multiple projects
Skills & Experience

Proven background working as a Planner on civil engineering or infrastructure projects

Strong understanding of project controls, critical path management, and scheduling software

Excellent communication and analytical skills

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
