Overview

The Enhanced Intermediate Care Service provides short term support for patients who can be managed at home or in the community but require additional health and social support to facilitate early discharge or an alternative to hospital admission.

Position

Physiotherapist – Enhanced Intermediate Care Service, Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine.

Hours

36 hours per week over 7 days, with participation in the weekend rota. This is a permanent position; job share may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients within North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary treatment planning, rehabilitation and enablement plans in partnership with the service user.
  • Facilitate early and supported discharge from hospital or offer an alternative to hospital admission.
  • Set goals and achieve outcomes that maximise the patient’s independence and quality of life.
  • Use comprehensive multi factorial care assessment for the elderly.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and basic information technology skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and extensive experience in relevant clinical fields.

A UK driving licence is essential for the role. Applicants must demonstrate a right to work in the United Kingdom. Sponsorship may be available for suitable posts where salary thresholds are met, but it is assessed on a case by case basis and is not guaranteed.
