Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and strengthen governance and risk arrangements for the Fife Pension Fund at a time of significant development and change.

As Pensions Governance and Risk Manager, you’ll take a lead role in building a modern, effective and resilient approach to governance, risk and compliance.

Role Details

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Salary: FC10 £57,196.54 – £62,583.94
  • Working Pattern: 36 hours per week
  • Location: Fife House, Glenrothes

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Lead the Fund’s risk management approach, including risk registers and horizon scanning.
  • Provide clear reporting and insight to the Pensions Committee and Board.
  • Support training and development for Committee and Board members.
  • Oversee policies, strategies and governance documentation.

You’ll work closely with senior colleagues and play a visible role in influencing how governance and risk are managed across the fund.

The Person

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, curious and confident working in a governance or risk environment.

You will have:

  • Experience in governance, risk or compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of pensions or LGPS frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and influence others.
  • Experience developing policies or governance frameworks.
  • The ability to lead or influence work across teams.
  • A relevant qualification in governance, risk, finance or law would be an advantage.
