Job Description

We are supporting our energy service client to recruit for a Payroll Specialist. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the payroll function with one direct report. Experience in a similar role is essential. Excellent benefits package, hybrid working available and a 9-day fortnight work pattern on offer.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Responsibility for accurate preparation and payment of monthly payrolls.
  • Specialist in all payroll matters including tax, NI and other deductions, benefits and pension schemes to be able to provide guidance and information to employees as required.
  • Preparation and analysis of payroll data to allow analysis of movements, trends and variances to budget/forecast.
  • Provide assistance in budgeting and forecasting for payroll.
  • Preparation of other payroll related submissions to HMRC.
  • Management of Employee expenses payments.
  • Responsible for annual payroll budgets and variance analysis.
  • Monthly reconciliation and reporting on Payroll related accounts.
  • Ensuring timely payment of payroll taxes and HMRC submissions.
  • Timely response to payroll queries.

Applicants to this role require

  • Strong payroll processing knowledge and experience.
  • Recognised Payroll qualification or demonstration of prior experience of managing a payroll function.
  • Good organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
