Parts Advisor Location
We have two positions available: one at our Loanhead branch (EH20 9LZ) and one at our Sighthill branch (EH11 4EP).
Salary
£32,711 per annum + Overtime – Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Contract & Hours
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Saturday 8:00 am – 12:30 pm.

Pentland Component Parts Ltd is a specialist in vehicle parts distribution and has vacancies for Parts Advisors.
The company seeks a friendly, outgoing individual with prior experience in this role to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls coming into the branch in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Look up parts using electronic catalogues, websites and occasionally paper catalogues.
- Advise customers on parts they might need, including add on sales.
- Check availability of parts on computer stock records.
- Book orders on the computer system correctly and as quickly as possible while considering the customer’s level of urgency and van schedules.
- Ensure all customers receive the best all round service by telephone or in person, over the counter.
- Learn about new product groups and new brands as they become relevant.
- Order from suppliers when necessary.
- Handle cash and process spot and account payments.
- Maintain shop displays as required.
- Put stock away.
- Liaise with other departments and branches to ensure transactions and processes are completed correctly.
- Grow sales by profitable means while keeping within acceptable branch margin limits.
- Deal with customer problems and queries.
- Report any serious or unresolved problems to your Line Manager or a Company Director.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Assist colleagues where required.
- Provide any other assistance needed to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
Requirements
- Work well and deliver results under pressure.
- Be organised with great attention to detail.
- Be dynamic, outgoing and energetic.
- Be motivated by sales but able to handle rejection.
- Willingness to learn and develop.
- Be a team player with the ability to work independently.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be IT literate.
- Have a good knowledge of car parts; knowledge of MAM cataloguing and main dealer EPCs is also desirable.
