Mairches Medical Practice is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for either a GP Partner or a Salaried GP to join our well established forward thinking and dynamic Practice. We would welcome applications for consideration of a Salaried GP or GP Partner position.

We serve approximately 11,000 patients across two sites in the Scottish Borders: Galashiels and Hawick. We also provide in hours cover for the Hawick Community Hospital and are supported by an experienced team of ANPs, practice nurses and a dedicated administrative and management team.

Our Practice is welcoming and supportive, emphasising a healthy work life balance. Daily meetings provide opportunities for debriefs, case discussions, reflections and continued professional development. We also offer regular social events.

We are an established GP team of seven Partners, one Salaried GP and one long term locum. Candidates are expected to work across both sites, though we offer flexibility in role and work pattern. The position is available immediately.

Job specifics

• An average of 12 x 15 minute appointments per session
• One “Duty Day” per week
• Support of extensive and developed nursing team – ANPs, Minor Ailments Nurse, Specialist Respiratory Nurse, Practice Nurses, HCAs
• Wider health care team of on site physiotherapist and pharmacist as well as local dedicated primary care mental health team (RENEW)
• Supported Duty Team working (ANP and GP), with twice daily clinical/educational huddles
• EMIS and DocMan based systems, due to change to Vision later this year

• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practice
