Estates Services covers the complete spectrum of Estates andProperty Management from the initial concept of the need toacquire or dispose of space through to new construction,purchase or lease of property, thereafter, the necessarymaintenance and provision of a variety of services required tosupport the academic and student community. The estateaccounts for the second highest level of investment by theUniversity after staff salaries. Estates Services supports the corebusiness of teaching and research and plays an important part instrategic planning.

The department has a number of operational sections – AssetManagement, Space Management and Planning, ProjectManagement, Fabric Services, Mechanical Services, ElectricalServices and Safety, Works Management, Security Services,Purchasing and the Print Unit, Catering Services, ResidenceServices, Administration and the Centre for Sport andRecreation.

As a member of the Fabric Services Team, you will be expectedto work as part of a team undertaking general cleaning dutiesand to assist the Chargehand as required. You should haveprevious cleaning experience, a good working knowledge ofcleaning equipment/machines and good communication skills.
