Job Description

A well-established, values-driven paediatric practice is seeking an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join them on a self-employed (associate) basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist looking to build or expand their independent practice, while benefiting from a consistent and varied referral stream. The organisation adopts a client-centred, neuro-affirming approach, with a strong emphasis on delivering practical, functional interventions that support children and young people in their everyday lives.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage a varied paediatric caseload, supporting children and young people with a range of developmental and functional needs
  • Provide support for sensory processing differences (experience in sensory integration is advantageous)
  • Deliver targeted interventions to develop activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
    • Toileting
    • Dressing
    • Personal hygiene
  • Deliver hands-on, functional therapy, supporting children to build independence in real-life contexts

Referrals are available across the week, with current demand highest on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Working Arrangement

This is a self-employed associate position, offering a high level of flexibility. The successful candidate will:

  • Work as an independent practitioner
  • Manage their own caseload and clinical decision-making
  • Set their own working hours and availability
  • Be responsible for maintaining professional registration, indemnity insurance, and tax arrangements

There is opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, while maintaining autonomy over your own practice.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Be HCPC registered with relevant paediatric experience
  • Have experience of, or a strong interest in, sensory processing differences
  • Be confident supporting children with functional daily living skills
  • Be organised, motivated, and comfortable working independently
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a neuro-affirming, child-centred approach
  • Be seeking a flexible role with a reliable source of referrals

Additional Information

  • Associates are expected to arrange appropriate clinical cover where required, in line with professional and safeguarding standards
  • Administrative and clinic-based support may be available by agreement
