Title: Optical Manager.

Location: Linwood.

Employment type: Part time.

Contract type: Permanent.

Shift pattern: Days, 40 hours per week.

Schedule

Rota: Week 1 Monday 09:00 – 17:30; Tuesday 11:00 – 19:30; Wednesday 09:00 – 17:30; Friday 09:00 – 17:30; Saturday 09:00 – 17:30.

Week 2 Monday 09:00 – 17:30; Tuesday 09:00 – 17:30; Wednesday 09:00 – 17:30; Thursday 11:00 – 19:30; Friday 09:00 – 17:30.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire optical operation, ensuring high-quality patient service.
  • Lead a team of optometrists and optical assistants, providing coaching and development.
  • Maintain compliance processes and procedures, and address customer queries.
  • Review sales forecasting and department targets, and manage the shop floor to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate with clinical support and area managers to optimise performance and business updates.
  • Manage clinic operations, including equipment, supplies, and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC.
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD.
  • Proven leadership skills in a fast paced optics environment.
  • Strong coaching ability and confidence in developing staff.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer and patient care.
  • Ambitious and driven to meet departmental targets.
