Overview
As an Operations Officer, you will be in a position to make a difference in the community and contribute to the SPS vision of “Helping to build a safer Scotland by Unlocking Potential and Transforming Lives.”
You will maintain custody and order while facilitating opportunities for those in our care, encouraging contact with families, access to education and training, and helping offenders become contributory citizens.
Contributing towards the prevention and management of challenging behaviour; you will provide safe and secure custodial services that empower offenders to take responsibility and transform their lives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall functioning and security of the establishment, working as part of a team and performing roles in Front of House, Visits, Electronic Control Room, Patrol and Prisoner Reception.
- Support safeguarding, safety, and welfare of staff and those in custody and respond to incidents in line with SPS procedures.
Shifts
Please note: the role requires working shifts in line with a set roster, including early, day, back and night shifts.
