Operations Manager
Salary: Up to 55,000
Employment Type: Full-Time – Permanent
Location: Office-Based, Glasgow.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead a busy freight operations department.
You will manage and develop a dedicated Operations team, build strong customer relationships, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement across the wider operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
- Oversee all aspects of import and export freight operations (FCL and LCL).
- Resolve operational challenges proactively, identifying practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving, supporting the team with complex shipments or client queries.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 5 years’ freight forwarding experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
- A strong Seafreight operations background (Working for a freight forwarder).
- Strong Knowledge of LCL, FCL Shipments
- Strong understanding of international shipping, customs procedures, and INCOTERMS in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience working for a Freight Forwarder in the UK in a Supervisor capacity.
- Minimum of 5 years working for a Freight Forwarder.
- Solid knowledge of Sea freight Operations working for a Freight Forwarder.
