Position
Occupational Therapist at Three Towns Resource Centre, Nelson Road, Saltcoats. Post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
30 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rated for part time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What you will do
The successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner to provide person centred, specialised assessment and care that addresses the complex functional, cognitive and psychosocial needs of people presenting at a GP practice. They will demonstrate competencies for care and rehabilitation of people with a range of needs and the ability to adapt to changing levels of activity and acuity. Clinical skills and knowledge across a range of settings are essential. The post holder will be confident in managing a complex caseload, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. Service improvement and evaluation skills are essential and the successful candidate will be involved in the ongoing development of the occupational therapy service in primary care. They will also supervise junior colleagues and students and participate in a programme of inter disciplinary training. The post holder will be supported to further develop their clinical and leadership skills with an expectation to be responsible for specific aspects of service development and delivery within the occupational therapy service. Caseload allocation will be undertaken in collaboration with the General Practitioner or multi disciplinary team or through self referral. Dynamic professional and clinical supervision will be provided, meeting staff and service needs. Line management supervision will be by a Band 7 occupational therapist. Clinical supervision is available in a range of formats and active engagement with peers across North Ayrshire and Pan Ayrshire services is supported through professional development groups and forums. National benchmarking and engagement is encouraged and supported and training is available in house and externally.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required
Occupation Therapist must be HCPC registered and have a Diploma, Degree or Masters qualification in Occupational Therapy. The team supports flexible working practices, which may include part time arrangements.

The advertised salary is based on a full time contract and must be pro rated for part time positions.
