Job Description

Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

Full time Monday to Friday plus call out rota

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical engineer carries out planned and reactive maintenance of all site and plant equipment to ensure the required levels of malt production are achieved, work to be in accordance with GMP, all trade related legislation and best practice. Working Monday-Friday, the position provides call out cover for out of hours breakdowns on a rotational basis.

Responsible for:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Contribute efficiency improvements around all areas of the site
  • Contribute to continuous improvement on site by maintaining a vigilant approach to your work, identifying, and reporting any areas of interest to site management
  • Complete maintenance paperwork/computer entry in line with company procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to the operation of equipment, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant, where appropriate.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Reactive maintenance including Mechanical testing, fault finding, installation and inspection
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, including motors, invertors, Gearboxes
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules
  • Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Environmental Procedures
  • Continued personal development by keeping up to date with new techniques, processes, and equipment, undertaking training courses and in house training, as required.

Required skills and experience:

  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Qulaity awarencess
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Electrically qualified (essential)
  • Recognised apprenticeship/engineering qualification, BTEC, HNC or equivalent
  • Confident in using computer based maintenance systems and Microsoft
  • Demonstratable ability in mechanical testing, fault finding, installation and inspection.
