An enthusiastic, kind and compassionate Registered Midwife is required to join our midwifery service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the largest maternity services in Scotland, delivering high-quality, evidence-based, woman and baby centred care across a range of clinical settings. This rotational post will provide experience across labour ward, inpatient maternity wards, community services, and specialist assessment areas, supporting the development of a well-rounded and confident practitioner. Successful candidates will initially be based within the North Community area.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Princess Royal Maternity Hospital
- Monday to Sunday 08:15 to 16:15 with current overnight on-call requirement
- One full-time and one part-time post available
- Permanent
- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high quality evidence based care to women and babies across inpatient and community maternity services
- Assess plan implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care throughout pregnancy labour and postnatal period
- Act as an advocate for women and families promoting safe and person centred care
- Identify and respond to changes in clinical condition ensuring timely and appropriate interventions
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support effective care delivery and communication
- Participate in audit research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care standards
- Support and supervise staff and contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- Registered Midwife on Part 10 of the NMC Register educated to degree level with relevant post registration experience
- Ability to work effectively within a team and use initiative in a dynamic clinical environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver sensitive and complex information compassionately
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Knowledge of evidence based maternity care and commitment to safe high quality practice
- IT skills and willingness to engage with digital systems and ongoing professional learning
- Full driving licence desirable to support rotation into community maternity services
