Mechanical Maintenance Fitter
Location: Coatbridge, Glasgow
Shift:
Early – Mon-Thu 6-2 and Friday 6-4pm
Late – Mon-Thu 2-10pm and Friday off
Salary: 45,000 + 20% shift allowance

The Ideal Candidate:t
Experience:
- Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain excellent organisational standards
- Competent in problem solving and hands-on maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Safety-first mindset with a proactive approach
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment including presses, valves, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, motors, gearboxes, and pipework
- Support regulatory compliance checks and statutory inspections
- Diagnose faults and minimise operational downtime
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrade projects
- Maintain robust records using Safe Systems of Work including Permit to Work and Hot Works procedures
- Support auditing of mechanical maintenance activities to ensure statutory compliance
- Collaborate with process engineering and production teams on new equipment introduction
- Provide mechanical trade expertise across factory and site infrastructure
