Ready to keep the heart of production beating?
We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support our client’s existing maintenance engineering team on an initial 3-6 month basis. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the high-performance production lines.
In this hands-on role, you won t just fix things, you ll be at the center of driving performance, preventing breakdowns before they happen, and constantly improving the machines that power production.
What you ll be doing:

Providing technical expertise on maintaining a range of critical production equipment

Executing advanced preventative and breakdown maintenance to maintain peak line performance and product quality.

Managing product and size changeovers where needed.

Completing critical asset care tasks in line with the established maintenance plan

Using the Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record and monitor all activities.

Ensuring full QESH (Quality, Environmental, Safety & Hygiene) compliance through regular checks and immediate escalation of any non-conformities.

Taking part in Health & Safety risk assessments and promoting zero-accident culture.

Participating in effective shift handovers and team briefings to ensure seamless communication and operations.
Your background:

A time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3, or equivelent. Having both a Level 3 NVQ and relevant HNC/HND would be highly beneficial and preferable.

Strong hands-on experience in fast paced MFCG manufacturing environments.

Proven ability in fault-finding, handling complex breakdowns, and ensuring machinery availability.

Confidence in using asset care systems and planning tools like CMMS.

Previous experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment is a big plus.
