Mechanical Fitter
Salary: 36,000 – 40,000
Location: EH41
Shift Pattern: Days – Monday to Friday
An established manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join its engineering team at its site in the EH41 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking for a stable days-based role within a well-established production environment.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, and installation work across a range of production and processing equipment. Working closely with the engineering and production teams, you will help ensure machinery reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities

Perform planned preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.

Carry out equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

Assist with breakdown response and root cause analysis.

Ensure maintenance records are completed accurately.

Work in accordance with health and safety procedures at all times.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you should have:

Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.

Experience working within a manufacturing, production, processing, or industrial environment.

The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
