Mechanical Fitter
First Achieve’s Engineering Department is recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled
Mechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing team.
Our client is a well-established engineering company with over 60 years of industry
experience, specialising in the design and manufacture of advanced engineering equipment
for a global customer base. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected manufacturer,
working on technically challenging projects within a modern production environment.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
Mechanical assembly and testing of water systems, including manifolds, pump skids
and interconnecting pipework. Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and
copper is essential.
Installation of pneumatic systems, including running pneumatic lines from valves,
devices and air islands.
Installation of vacuum pipework and vacuum components using bolted connections.
Assembly and installation of inert gas pipework using stainless steel and other
suitable materials.
Precision mechanical assembly of furnace components, ensuring the highest standards
of quality and workmanship.
Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical systems.
Inspecting mechanical components and assemblies.
Carrying out vacuum and pressure testing of components and systems (full training
provided).
Occasional travel to customer sites to carry out installations, servicing and repair
work.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter with a strong and stable work history.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent engineering qualifications are preferred
but not essential.
