Material Planner

Are you an organised, proactive supply chain professional who enjoys keeping production moving and building strong supplier relationships?

I’m currently working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Falkirk who is looking to add a Materials Plannerto their supply chain team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are available when needed, helping production run smoothly while working closely with suppliers and internal teams.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing purchase orders from creation through to delivery.
• Planning material requirements using MRP.
• Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring deliveries are on schedule.
• Proactively managing shortages before they impact production.
• Working closely with production, stores and engineering to ensure material availability.
• Investigating supplier delivery issues and driving corrective actions.
• Managing invoice queries, order amendments and damaged or lost deliveries.
• Supporting inventory optimisation by reducing excess, obsolete and slow-moving stock.
• Contributing to continuous improvement projects across the supply chain.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience within a purchasing, planning or materials role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience using an MRP/ERP system.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
