Job Overview
The Managing Director of a successful commercial printing house in Scotland is retiring. We are seeking an ambitious individual to head our sales team, bring in new business, and eventually move into a Managing Director role within the next couple of years.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the sales department and develop and implement sales strategies.
- Gather performance data and create reports for senior management and shareholders.
- Analyze market trends, forecast sales, and identify growth opportunities.
- Review sales processes, systems, and performance management criteria to continually improve the team.
- Build deep rooted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and partners.
- Maintain a clear view of profit and loss, providing business direction for the sales team.
Qualifications
- Currently in the printing industry or have worked in the sector within the last two years.
- Proven record of building and managing high performing sales teams.
- Strong business acumen with excellent communication, motivation, and persuasion skills.
- Number oriented with strong mathematical skills and business sense.
- Strategic and analytical mindset capable of monitoring market shifts and avoiding stagnation.
- Experience in packaging, printing, or paper sectors is required.
