Maintenance Technician – Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC

Location: Glasgow
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £33389 per year

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead allPlanned and Preventative Maintenance (bedrooms, plant rooms, equipment, etc.)
  • Take ownership ofHealth & Safety compliance and due diligence
  • Maintain all physical and electronic records, certificates, and logs
  • Chair thehotel’s Health & Safety Committee
  • Liaise withcontractors and suppliers for repairs, servicing, and installations
  • Manage themaintenance budget with an eye for cost-efficiency
  • Carry outrisk assessments and document all incidents (including RIDDOR)
  • Train staff in key areas: H&S, fire panel/evacuation, manual handling
  • Respond promptly to team and guest maintenance requests
  • Perform routine repairs in lighting, plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and decorating
  • Execute regularfire alarm, sprinkler, and water safety tests
  • Operatetechnical systems (BMS, HVAC) and hotel platforms (Opera, GXP)
  • Maintain clean and safe workspaces, indoors and out-includinggreen areas
  • Read and recordenergy usage and meter data

What We’re Looking For Essential

  • Proven hands-on experience withHVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Solid understanding ofHealth & Safety regulations and record-keeping
  • Experience with minor repairs: lighting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating
  • Able to work independently and stay well organised
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
  • Friendly, professional, and a natural team player
  • Fluent English speaker with clear communication skills
  • Confident using tech systems and tools

Desired

  • Experience managingPlanned and Preventative Maintenance programmes
  • Familiarity withfire/life safety systems (e.g. sprinklers, alarms, panels)
  • Knowledge ofhotel tech systems like BMS, GXP, and Opera
  • Experience handlingdepartmental budgets
  • Ability totrain colleagues in core H&S and operational areas
  • Prior involvement inHealth & Safety Committees
