Maintenance Officer
Job Description
Your New CompanyAn established community-focused Housing Association in West Glasgow is seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join the team on a 6-month temporary contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality repairs and maintenance service to tenants across the Association’s housing stock.
Your New Role
- Manage day-to-day reactive repairs, ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard
- Carry out property inspections, post-inspections and diagnose required works
- Support delivery of cyclical and planned maintenance programmes
- Liaise with contractors, tenants and internal teams to ensure a smooth and customer-focused service
- Monitor contractor performance, costs and compliance with service standards
- Maintain accurate records using the Association’s housing/repairs systems
- Ensure all works comply with relevant health & safety, statutory and regulatory requirements
- Assist with void inspections and ensuring properties are prepared for re-let
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience in a similar role within a housing association or local authority
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repairs diagnosis and contractor management
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Full UK driving licence preferred
