Job Description

To safely operate machinery within the workshop to manufacture and assemble components for concrete mixers, ensuring products meet quality standards and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate workshop machinery (e.g. cutting, drilling, bending, or fabrication equipment) in line with training and safety guidelines
  • Manufacture and assemble parts used in concrete mixer production
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications
  • Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
  • Monitor production quality and report any defects or issues
  • Ensure all work is completed to required standards and within set timeframes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment preferred
  • Experience operating machinery or willingness to be trained
  • Ability to read technical drawings (desirable)
  • Good attention to detail and quality standards
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Basic mechanical or engineering knowledge (advantageous)

Qualifications

  • GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English) desirable
  • Relevant vocational or technical qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
