Logistics Coordinator

Location: Aberdeen
Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

Our client is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team in Aberdeen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in freight forwarding, logistics or customs who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment coordinating shipments across air, sea and road freight.

The successful candidate will play a key role in arranging the movement of goods, preparing customs and shipping documentation, and ensuring all shipments are managed in line with customer requirements and HMRC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the transportation of goods across air, sea and road freight.
  • Arrange shipments from collection through to final delivery.
  • Prepare import and export shipping documentation, including commercial invoices and packing lists.
  • Ensure customs documentation is completed accurately and compliantly.
  • Obtain and process import and export entries to satisfy audit requirements.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers and customers to ensure the smooth movement of shipments.
  • Maintain client HMRC records where required.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with current HMRC regulations, Incoterms and customs commodity codes.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively resolve any issues to minimise delays.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and operational documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within freight forwarding, logistics, customs or a similar role.
  • Experience coordinating air, sea and road freight shipments.
  • Strong customs knowledge and understanding of UK import and export procedures.
  • Good understanding of HMRC regulations, Incoterms and customs commodity codes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
