Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is full time.

This is a Fixed term post duration yet to be confirmed.

Applications are invited for one full time Locum Consultant in Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthesia based at the Royal Hospital for Children.

Post: 10PA contract with responsibilities to cardiac and general theatres. The ‘on call’ commitment for this post is 1 in 6, providing cover for cardiac surgical and cardiology emergencies on the RHC site.

The successful candidates will work alongside 5 cardiac anaesthetic consultants providing on call cover to the paediatric cardiac service. The department also includes a consultant general anaesthetic rota team as well as advanced paediatric anaesthesia trainees, post CCT Fellows and specialty trainees rotating from the West of Scotland Training Scheme.

All applicants must be eligible for full GMC registration and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving their CCT at the time of interview. Significant previous paediatric cardiac anaesthetic experience is expected.
