Position
Locum Consultant Cardiologist specialising in Electrophysiology (EP) at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, Clydebank.
Role Overview
The post is for a fully trained and independent consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist competent in invasive EP procedures. The role lasts an initial fixed period of 35 weeks, starting in August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform invasive EP procedures, including basic electrophysiological studies, SVT ablation, AF ablation using cryoablation, and mapping and ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
- Support the expansion of the EP service to manage waiting lists and reduce waiting times.
- Contribute to the unit’s lead extraction program and serve the West of Scotland adult arrhythmia population.
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully independent consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist.
- Competent in invasive EP procedures.
- Experience in SVT and AF ablation with cryoablation, and in complex arrhythmia mapping and ablation is desirable.
- Knowledge of a service delivering approximately 750 cath lab procedures annually.
