The shift pattern for this post is 40 hours per week over 7 days / on-call commitment.
This is a fixed term position of 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Locum Consultant Cardiologist post based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
- Contribute to the in-patient cardiology rota at QEUH (CCU and general ward roles, weekend rota and out-of-hours on-call).
- Provide two sessions contributing to the cardiac MRI reporting service at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.
- Out-of-hours and weekend on-call commitment of 1 in 11, covering the QEUH.
- Weekday commitment to CCU of 1 in 18 and to Cardiology wards 1 in 11.
- Provide two General Cardiology clinics per week at the New Victoria ACH and contribute to vetting GP referrals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- MRCP, full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- For UK-trained applicants: evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Cardiology or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
- Dual accreditation in GIM would be preferred but is not essential.
- Extensive training in general cardiology.
- Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
- Fixed term post for 6 months due to a Cardiology Consultant relocation; candidate will join an established consultant cardiologist team.
