Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Development Assistant, Vocational Learning (Assessor) based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours:

36.00 hours per week.

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part time staff) without loss of earnings.

UK Driving Licence:

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What you will do:

You will work directly with the Learning and Development Advisor – Vocational Learning in providing advice and guidance on Vocational Qualifications to line and service managers and will undertake workplace assessments, providing learning support and guidance to candidates undertaking an SVQ/MAs in Business & Administration and Learning & Development at SCQF Levels 6 and 7. You will also work closely with the Business Support Manager in supporting the operational requirements of the training and education centres.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

You will be an enthusiastic, flexible team player who has a working knowledge and understanding of business and administration procedures and guidelines including SVQ/MA delivery with excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
