LEAD TECHNICAL OPERATOR
PERMANENT

LIVINGSTON

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Technical Operator to join our well-established medical device company located in Livingston. The position will be appointed on a permanent basis and may require weekend working and shift work.

The company has recently experienced a period of growth and requires a talented individual to contribute to the continued success of the business.

Key Duties:

  • Set up, change over and run the aseptic filling machines in a Grade B cleanroom environment
  • Identify and fix routine machine faults as required
  • Sterilisation of machine parts by autoclaving
  • Monitor critical process parameters and act on any deviations within the manufacturing suite, capturing and reporting any anomalies to Quality Assurance and the Area Supervisor
  • Perform in process checks and visual inspection, recording data throughout manufacturing process to ensure the product is within specification
  • Completion of all batch paperwork relevant to manufacturing process following GDP
  • Ensure all downtime is kept to a minimum, drive continuous improvement and efficient machine performance
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude to all required tasks and act as a role model for others within the team
  • Adhere to Company Safety, Hygiene, Environmental & Quality policies and procedures at all times
  • Deputise for the Area Supervisor in times of absence
  • Ensure operations are carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing business
  • Technical mindset
  • An understanding of aseptic processing techniques and cleanroom experience within a medical device or closely related environment.
  • The ability to think logically and solve problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to work to own initiative
  • IT skills efficient in the use of MS Excel and Word

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within a cGMP environment
  • HNC or HND in a technical discipline.
