LEAD TECHNICAL OPERATOR
PERMANENT
LIVINGSTON
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Technical Operator to join our well-established medical device company located in Livingston. The position will be appointed on a permanent basis and may require weekend working and shift work.
The company has recently experienced a period of growth and requires a talented individual to contribute to the continued success of the business.
Key Duties:
- Set up, change over and run the aseptic filling machines in a Grade B cleanroom environment
- Identify and fix routine machine faults as required
- Sterilisation of machine parts by autoclaving
- Monitor critical process parameters and act on any deviations within the manufacturing suite, capturing and reporting any anomalies to Quality Assurance and the Area Supervisor
- Perform in process checks and visual inspection, recording data throughout manufacturing process to ensure the product is within specification
- Completion of all batch paperwork relevant to manufacturing process following GDP
- Ensure all downtime is kept to a minimum, drive continuous improvement and efficient machine performance
- Demonstrate a positive attitude to all required tasks and act as a role model for others within the team
- Adhere to Company Safety, Hygiene, Environmental & Quality policies and procedures at all times
- Deputise for the Area Supervisor in times of absence
- Ensure operations are carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing business
- Technical mindset
- An understanding of aseptic processing techniques and cleanroom experience within a medical device or closely related environment.
- The ability to think logically and solve problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work to own initiative
- IT skills efficient in the use of MS Excel and Word
Desirable:
- Experience of working within a cGMP environment
- HNC or HND in a technical discipline.
