CAMHS Nurse – Band 6

Overview

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) – Location: Links Unit, City Hospital, Aberdeen.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within CAMHS for an experienced and enthusiastic RMN/RNLD/RNCYP qualified Nurse to join the team.

The team is an inclusive, values-based multi disciplinary group that includes Nursing, Clinicians, Psychotherapists, Clinical and Applied Psychologists, Play Therapists, Allied Health Professionals, Psychiatrists, Administration, Business and Support Staff. The team ethos promotes patient centred care, efficiency and a culture that values, enables and develops staff.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical responsibility for own caseload within the current CAMHS delivery model and Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA).
  • Work with children and young people, families, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ongoing professional development and flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • RMN/RNLD/RNCYP qualified nurse.
  • Genuine interest in CAMHS.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and adaptability.
  • CAMHS experience is valuable but not essential; a full training and supervision package will be provided.

Training and Development

Provides essential CAMHS training (a mix of online and local face to face modules) and the NES one year CAMHS Development Programme (mix of online and face to face in Edinburgh). Tailored supportive line management and multidisciplinary supervision structures are in place. There is an established dynamic monthly CPD programme with dedicated time for learning opportunities.

Location

Links Unit, City Hospital, Aberdeen – situated in Grampian, North East of Scotland with scenic landscapes and easy access to airports. The region offers urban and rural leisure, cultural and sporting activities.
