The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Post Doctoral Engineer in the ‘DOSA point of care diagnostic for urinary tract infections in low and middle income countries’ project (DOSA3) at the University of Edinburgh. DOSA3 is the latest instalment of a successful collaboration that began in 2018, aiming to tackle UTIs and antimicrobial resistance through point of care tests in the community.
The post will focus on engineering and design for manufacture aspects of the project. The post holder will work on technologies such as paper and microfluidic devices, printing and patterning, surface and polymer chemistry, and will engage with a multidisciplinary team and multi sectoral stakeholders including diagnostic innovators, social scientists, medical professionals, microbiologists, biophysicists, healthcare authorities and the general public.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term (19 months).
