Position: IT Project ManagerLocation: Edinburgh/Glasgow (Hybrid working with 1-2 days in the office)Division: Information Services Division (ISD)Contract: Initial 6 Months, with an option to extend by a further 6 months three times, up to a total of 24 monthsStart Date: August 2024, as soon as Disclosure checks completeDisclosure: Enhanced Disclosure requiredDay Rate: PAYE £340, LTD £380About the Role:ASA Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Project Manager to join the Information Services Division (ISD). The ISD delivers and supports an enterprise portfolio of efficient, resilient, innovative, and secure IT services to meet business needs. The IT Project Manager will play a crucial role in implementing digital strategy by developing sustainable digital and information solutions that modernise, innovate, and transform the delivery of user-focused services, thereby improving the way our organisation works.Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Lead, oversee, and support ongoing critical in-flight projects, ensuring the successful delivery of key strategic digital initiatives within the digital transformation portfolio. Digital Transformation Projects:o Electronic Document & Records Management Project: Migrate corporate data to the cloud for greater efficiency and enhanced reporting features.o Security Clearance Classification: Align with the latest security clearance classification protocols, particularly in documentation labelling.o Application Usability: Improve the usability of internal applications (especially Finance and HR) to replace manual workarounds with automated solutions.o Visitor Notification Application: Implement an application to automate current visitor notification processes.o Infrastructure and Security: Upgrade digital infrastructure, including laptops and mobile phones, to maintain security posture. Project Management: Use project management methodologies to deliver digital IT solutions and lead complex, integrated IT projects. Engagement: Work authoritatively and effectively with IT colleagues and external suppliers to devise, plan, and deliver the required solutions. Documentation and Control: Establish robust project management mechanisms and documentation to control, manage, and deliver assigned IT and digital projects successfully. Team Guidance: Direct project team members throughout the project life cycle and engage with technical staff, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes. Tracking and Reporting: Track project plans, provide status reports, and ensure transparent communication to highlight progress against agreed baseline plans. Flexibility and Availability: The completion of work is not tied to particular working hours. Regular interaction with the team and attending meetings (physically or virtually) are required, as well as potential out-of-hours work for application releases. Candidates should be prepared to travel, with travel costs reclaimable via invoicing.Essential Skills and Qualifications: Project Management Certification: Qualified in project management with experience in all aspects of the project life cycle. Complex IT Projects: Experience delivering complex and wide-ranging IT business projects across a digital programme portfolio. Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience engaging authoritatively and effectively with IT and business colleagues as well as external partners to devise and plan required solutions, tasks, and activities. Application Delivery: Successful delivery of custom-built applications, working with both agile and waterfall approaches to achieve desired outcomes.Working Conditions: Hybrid working model with 1-2 days in the office in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
