Job Description

Role: IT Field Engineer

Benefits: 40,000 + Benefits

Location: Glasgow (Onsite)

Duration: 6 month FTC

Our client is currently on the lookout for an IT Field Engineer who will be able to come in and make an impact from day one. You’ll be tasked with supporting, maintaining and enhancing the performance of their key systems across specific centres. This role will require you to travel to a range of sites across the region ensuring that the technology is operating flawlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain system performance and adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maximize colleague satisfaction
  • Diagnose, repair, and install systems, achieving a high level of technical expertise across the range of products we support
  • Assist with larger installation and service projects, working closely with the wider team
  • Strive for high levels of first-time fixes within your region through in-depth product knowledge and logical fault-finding techniques
  • Translate the company’s strategic goals into actionable plans
  • Provide excellent organisational, communication, and customer-facing skills in all interactions
  • Execute tasks promptly and efficiently in line with company procedures, always presenting a professional image
  • Handle colleague queries courteously, working closely with Support Administration and Third Parties to resolve issues
  • Adapt to the fast-paced nature of our business and carry out work outside normal working hours when necessary
  • Undertake site audits, health and safety duties, and other responsibilities as required, including travel and overnight stays

Requirements:

  • A Level technology qualification or equivalent
  • Significant industry experience as a field engineer
  • Strong customer service orientation with experience in similar fast-paced industries (e.g., automotive, hospitality, retail, logistics
  • ITIL awareness and good working knowledge of PCs, printers, communication equipment, and networking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. MS365 and Microsoft Entra knowledge is preferred
  • Full driving license and own car – essential
  • Experience with VoIP deployment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating effective workload organisation and excellent communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to build strong working relationships across all functions
  • Flexibility, integrity, and problem-solving abilities
  • Networking, Microsoft Qualifications (MCP, CCIE) are a plus
  • Knowledge of automotive repair systems like Autoflow or Audatex is an advantage
  • Experience in the automotive industry or other fast-paced industries is desirable
