About the Role

Join NHS Lanarkshire’s Cyber & Information Security team and help protect the systems, data and digital services that support patient care. This role supports cyber security, assurance and information governance activity across the organisation. You will work closely with IT teams, service areas and external partners to manage risk, improve controls and ensure sensitive information is handled safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage cyber and security tickets and requests
  • Use tools such as Microsoft Defender to review alerts and support investigations
  • Manage and update tickets using ServiceNow
  • Support assurance processes, including reviewing DPIAs and supplier responses
  • Assist with maintaining policies, standards and staff guidance
  • Work collaboratively with IT, Information Governance and service teams
  • Record risks, track actions and elevate issues appropriately

Who We’re Looking For

This opportunity is open to Armed Forces candidates who are looking to transition into cyber roles. You don’t need to be an expert as full training and support will be provided.

You will have:

  • Good IT skills (Microsoft 365, systems and devices)
  • An interest in cyber security and willingness to learn
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain accurate records (e.g. ticket systems)
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A team focused approach

Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
