The Craneware Group supports a flexible work environment as well as a collaborative and teamwork focused atmosphere. Employees will be expected to work a hybrid working arrangement spending 40% of their time per month in the Tanfield office – approx 2 days per week. The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the day to day running of the infrastructure and technology architecture, reviewing new technologies, assisting in reviewing and developing infrastructure architecture models, plans and act as a final point of escalation in events of extensive failure within the business. Provisioning server hardware configurations to provide a secure and performant compute platform. Maintaining security and integrity of network infrastructure and services such that unauthorised activity can be recognised and prevented. Managing secure and resilient datacentres to support products and internal services. Identifying issues proactively and take any corrective actions necessary to sustain the environment. Assisting with the resolution of unusual or escalated customer service issues related to datacentre and network services to ensure that any disruption is minimised. Responding in a timely manner to datacentre and network issues in order to maintain a highly available service to the business. Developing and maintaining relationships with technical colleagues working in Engineering, allowing closer collaboration. Reviewing and recommending new technologies with the aim of improving existing services. Training and mentoring junior colleagues to raise their levels of expertise and minimise the number of required ticket escalations. Assisting in analysis of trends in load/throughput and performance against benchmarks. Assisting in analysis of outages and working on preventative plans. Qualifications : 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role in addition 12-18 months’ experience working within Craneware’s infrastructure and technology architecture Skills : Excellent Problem solving using logical and systematic approaches Self-Motivated Time Management Organizational skills Ability to understand the long term impact of decisions Proficient knowledge and understanding of network security tools and security practices Oral and written communication skills Solid understanding of computer network architecture Awareness of Disaster Recovery planning and implementation Awareness of Business continuity planning and implementation Proficient knowledge and understanding of network security tools and security practices Experience of the following technologies: Routers, Switches and Firewalls TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, iSCSI SSL, VPN and IP Sub-netting. Network Quality of Service configuration Solid analytical troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Microsoft Windows server operating systems Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft Azure Mobile Device Management Server Virtualisation technologies Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage Microsoft Skype for Business
