IN HOUSE REAL ESTATE OPPORTUNITY – HEAD OF LEGAL EDINBURGH C 7 YRS PQE +

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior Real Estate lawyer to join a highly respected, privately owned property investment and development business in Edinburgh.

This is a sole in-house counsel role with a broad and commercially focused remit, supporting a diverse property portfolio and working closely with the senior leadership team. You will provide pragmatic, commercially driven legal advice across:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Commercial property acquisitions, disposals and asset management

Development and construction projects

Commercial contracts, corporate and governance matters

Regulatory, ESG, risk and compliance issues

Litigation and disputes

Management of external legal advisers and legal spend

Development of legal processes, templates and contract management

Responsible adoption of AI and technology within legal operations

The role offers significant autonomy, ownership and visibility across the wider business, with the opportunity to shape the legal function and add real commercial value.

REQUIREMENTS:

We are keen to hear from lawyers with:

7+ years’ PQE ideally

Strong experience across acquisitions, disposals and asset management

Excellent commercial judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach

Confidence operating autonomously and advising senior stakeholders

Strong relationship management and communication skills

Qualification:

Dual qualification in Scotland and England & Wales or English qualified is preferred. However, Scottish-qualified Real Estate lawyers will be considered.
