Job Description

Housekeeping Assistant (Bank Contract – Nights/Unsocial Hours)

Location: Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital, West End of Glasgow.

Pay: £13.10 per hour.

Job Summary

As a Housekeeping Assistant at our Glasgow Hospital, you will organise your work and plan your time to ensure cleaning never interferes with the patient and visitor experience. Friendly communication and a strong customer focus are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in clinical and non clinical areas.
  • Use power cleaning equipment proficiently.
  • Work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Plan and prioritise tasks to meet the needs of the hospital environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and COSHH guidelines.
  • Maintain a current Police Vetting Guidance (PVG) status.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Healthcare experience preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of IPC best practices.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations.
  • Flexible approach to shift working.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High standards of personal appearance and hygiene.

Working Hours

Bank contract – you will not be contracted to a fixed number of hours per week, but will be called in on an ad hoc basis to suit business needs and your availability.
