Support Worker

Location: Edinburgh
Contract Type: Permanent Part time day shift and Full time nightshift positions available
Salary: £12.84 per hour

You ll help individuals build independence, access opportunities, and take meaningful steps toward a more stable future.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs and aspirations.

  • Utilise case management systems to review, monitor, and evaluate progress.

  • Facilitate key work sessions, reviews, and meetings in line with support plans.

  • Provide advocacy, advice, and support to ensure service users meet occupancy conditions.

  • Work in partnership with external agencies to maximise opportunities for supported individuals.

  • Manage a personal caseload while contributing to the wider team.

  • Support referrals, admissions, and discharges in accordance with procedures.

  • Maintain a safe environment through regular risk assessments, health & safety checks, and cleaning duties.

  • Help individuals with tenancy management, budgeting, and accessing services.

  • Uphold data protection and confidentiality requirements while maintaining accurate records.

  • Play an active role in service development, professional learning, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people.

  • Ability to build trusting, empowering relationships.

  • Awareness of the challenges linked to homelessness and trauma.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work flexibly and independently, including lone working.

  • Basic IT literacy and the ability to maintain clear, accurate records.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting people with addiction issues, homelessness, or complex needs.

  • Understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.

  • Experience promoting recovery and social inclusion.

  • HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.

Qualifications:

  • A willingness and ability to work towards SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare is essential.
