Support Worker
Location: Edinburgh
Contract Type: Permanent Part time day shift and Full time nightshift positions available
Salary: £12.84 per hour

You ll help individuals build independence, access opportunities, and take meaningful steps toward a more stable future.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs and aspirations.

Utilise case management systems to review, monitor, and evaluate progress.

Facilitate key work sessions, reviews, and meetings in line with support plans.

Provide advocacy, advice, and support to ensure service users meet occupancy conditions.

Work in partnership with external agencies to maximise opportunities for supported individuals.

Manage a personal caseload while contributing to the wider team.

Support referrals, admissions, and discharges in accordance with procedures.

Maintain a safe environment through regular risk assessments, health & safety checks, and cleaning duties.

Help individuals with tenancy management, budgeting, and accessing services.

Uphold data protection and confidentiality requirements while maintaining accurate records.

Play an active role in service development, professional learning, and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills and Attributes:

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people.

Ability to build trusting, empowering relationships.

Awareness of the challenges linked to homelessness and trauma.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Ability to work flexibly and independently, including lone working.

Basic IT literacy and the ability to maintain clear, accurate records.
Desirable:
-
Experience supporting people with addiction issues, homelessness, or complex needs.

Understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.

Experience promoting recovery and social inclusion.

HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
Qualifications:
-
A willingness and ability to work towards SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare is essential.
