Job Description
We are looking for a full time Band 8a Family and Systemic Therapist to join Specialist Children’s Services at North CAMHS – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service community team based at Woodside Health and Care Centre.

The shift pattern for Community CAMHS Teams is Monday Friday 09 00; we are willing to discuss flexibility to meet team needs. Family and Systemic Psychotherapy offers a specialist service across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC) within Specialist Children Services (SCS) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Family and Systemic Psychotherapy operates as a distinct profession within NHSGGC SCS and as part of the multi disciplinary specialist clinical care provision. It provides a service to children/young people up to 18 years old and their families where the child/young person is presenting with complex and severe psychological and mental health difficulties. Consultation to staff internal and external to the directorate system, teaching, training, supervision and promoting the ethos of systemic practice are all components of the specialist service.
Key Responsibilities
- Autonomous delivery of evidence based systemic interventions
- Leading and supervising Band 7 systemic psychotherapists
- Contributing to service development
- Supporting research, audit and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria
- Masters level qualification (or equivalent) in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy
- Registration with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
- Registration as an AFSP approved Supervisor is highly desirable or willingness to work towards this in a specific timescale
- Core professional qualification in a relevant health or social care profession (or AFT recognised equivalent) and demonstrable practice in a relevant setting
- Evidence of continuing professional development as required by AFSP/UKCP
Experience and Skills
- Significant post qualification experience as a registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist
- Experience in clinical leadership, supervision and multi agency working
- Skills in teaching, training and research are desirable
Other Requirements
- The ability to travel independently across a number of NHS sites
- A driving licence is desirable
