HGV Technician (days / backs) – Glasgow West

Location: Glasgow, GB, G51 4GA

Position Type: Professional

HGV Technician – Days / Backs, Glasgow West

Salary: £17ph – £20ph + OVERTIME + BONUS + PLUS £1000 SIGNING ON BONUS (£500 after 6 months + £500 after completion of 1 year service)

Shift Pattern:

Shift 1 Day shift Mon to Thursday 7:00 to 15:30 and Friday 7:00 to 14:30

Shift 2 Back Shift Mon to Thursday 12:50 to 21:00 and Friday 11:30 to 19:00

You will have

  • A Level 3 NVQor equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry

What you will do

  • Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
  • Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process
  • Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
  • Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
  • Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
