Job Description

Our client, a Global leader, has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our Engineering Team as a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Edinburgh.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will maintain the safety and reliability of our assets by performing service and maintenance on our fleet of vehicles and trailers according to planned schedules. You will ensure that the fleet is safe, legal, and fit for duty.

Working Hours: 40 per week
Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:30

Responsibilities

  • Complete signed service and inspection records.
  • Complete defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
  • Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing, ensuring a first-time pass standard.
  • Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs, investigating and rectifying vehicle defects.
  • Ensure the correct and effective use of all tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and perform any other duties deemed reasonable by management.

Requirements

  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components.
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must possess a valid driving license.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
