Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their commercial driving skills within a dynamic and supportive environment. The ideal applicant will possess a valid HGV Class 2 licence, along with experience in delivery operations and flatbed handling.

Duties

  • Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 2 lorry, ensuring adherence to all road safety regulations and company policies
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured correctly during transit
  • Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
  • Assist with the loading and unloading process when required, maintaining health and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience in similar roles
  • Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations and securing cargo effectively
  • Valid HGV Class 2 licence (Category C) is essential
  • Knowledge of current driving regulations and health & safety standards relevant to commercial driving
  • Experience with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous
