Job Description

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for a 3 month contract with a well established food distribution company operating throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking consistent full time hours, reliable weekly pay, and the chance to gain valuable experience within a fast paced distribution environment.

Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are welcome to apply.

  • 3-month contract
  • Monday to Friday
  • Occasional weekend shifts available
  • Typical start times of 7:00am or 11:00am
  • Full time hours with overtime available during busy periods
  • Delivering food products to commercial customers across local and regional routes
  • Completing multi drop deliveries in a Class 2 vehicle
  • Working alongside a driver’s mate to complete deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Assisting with loading and unloading where required
  • Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting
  • Completing delivery documentation accurately
  • Providing a professional and customer focused service at all times

Monday to Friday

PAYE

  • £14.50 per hour
  • £19.32 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

  • £16.25 per hour
  • £21.66 per hour after 8 hours
  • Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
  • Weekly pay
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Holiday pay accrued (unless PAYE Advanced is selected)
  • Consistent full time hours throughout the contract
  • Opportunity to gain valuable experience with a respected food distribution business
  • Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum 9 penalty points
  • No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety focused approach
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
