Job Description

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is recruiting experienced Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to support a variety of well-established clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

  • Flexible ad hoc work to suit client requirements
  • Weekday and weekend shifts available
  • Typical start times of 7:00am or 11:00am
  • Extra shifts available during busy periods and holiday cover
  • Opportunities with a range of clients across Edinburgh and surrounding areas

The Role

  • Driving a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle on multi-drop delivery routes
  • Working alongside a driver’s mate to complete deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading goods where required
  • Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
  • Providing excellent customer service at every delivery point

Monday to Friday

PAYE

  • £14.50 per hour
  • £19.32 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

  • £16.25 per hour
  • £21.66 per hour after 8 hours
  • Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
  • Weekly pay
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Holiday pay accrued (unless PAYE Advanced is selected)
  • Flexible work to fit around your lifestyle

  • Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum of 9 penalty points
  • No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements
  • Comfortable with manual handling duties
  • Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred
  • Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
