Job Description

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to support a variety of well-established clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Whether you’re looking for full time ongoing work, a few extra shifts each week, or flexible driving opportunities to fit around your current commitments, we have a range of assignments available with competitive rates of pay and immediate starts.

The Role

  • Trunking and palletised distribution work
  • Delivering and collecting goods between depots, distribution centres and customer locations
  • Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
  • Accurately completing delivery paperwork and records
  • Following all road transport legislation and health & safety procedures
  • Minimal manual handling on the majority of assignments
  • Day shifts
  • Back shifts
  • Night shifts
  • Weekday and weekend work available
  • Flexible scheduling to suit your availability
  • Typical shift lengths of 8-12 hours

PAYE

  • £15.50 per hour
  • £20.66 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

  • £17.37 per hour
  • £23.15 per hour after 8 hours
  • Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift
  • Weekly pay
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Holiday pay included within PAYE Advanced rates
  • Flexible work to fit around your lifestyle
  • Regular ongoing assignments with a variety of clients
  • Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
  • Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum of 9 penalty points
  • No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements
  • Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
  • Reliable, professional and safety-conscious attitude

Drug and alcohol testing may be carried out during induction and on a random basis throughout employment.
